Dear all,
I hope you are doing fine. After a long time of reflexion and on the demand of many friends, I will be activating my blog again.
My blog was basically regarding hair oiling as a hair care and as part of our Indian culture and tradition. Unfortunately, I had closed the blog because of too many fantasies being posted and practically very few real experiences. Since it is a blog about hair oiling, I cannot prevent those who see hair oiling as a fetish or fantasy to post.
As I said, this is also your blog and you are free to post.
However, the main purpose of activating the blog now is to promote hair oiling videos on Youtube. There are many Youtubers who are taking the pain and care to make videos as requested by their followers. And many of these videos are hair oiling or very heavy hair oiling videos, just as we like.
Hence, I want to create this page to post these Youtube videos and encourage you friends and followers, to like - share - subscribe - comment on these Youtube channels. Just as those Youtubers are taking the pain and resources to create nice videos, we need to take the pain to like - share - subscribe and comment so that they can even more views.
I am sure I can still count on the collaboration of my hair oiling lovers friends to boost these videos.

For my first post, I will be sharing the Youtube video of Babita's Gallery! She has very nice and heavy hair oiling and the model is her daughter. Her daugher has very nice hair and Babita ensures that a strict hair care routine is maintained through heavy oiling. She also does some very nice sleek hairstlyes on her daughter's very heavily oiled hair!

Hello my dear friends. Upon requests of some of you, today I will be sharing two videos about henna/mehendi for hair. These 2 videos are very instructive and helpful regarding henna/mehendi.
Mehendi is very good for hair, not only for coloring but also for conditioning. It helps to make the hair thick and long and has so many virtues. But we are talking about natural henna and not chemical ones or chemical dyes - these are just too harmful to the hair.

Hello my dear friends... I hope you all had a very nice and super oily weekend as I did! Our hairs were pampered with so much love and so much oil :)
From Friday to Sunday evening, all of us ladies had heavily oiled hair or dripping oiled hair. MIL and myself took turn oiling our hairs (including daughters) and we even allowed them to oil our hairs too. It was really a fun moment to be oiling all together. My husband is the only one who always escapes, but I talked to his mom and ask her to convince him too.
My daughters washed their hair yesterday evening and let it dry. Then yesterday night, I oiled their hair heavily and this morning only did combing for school. MIL is still wearing heavily oiled from weekend but did not oil again today.
On my side, I didn't wash also as today is my henna day. So I kept my hair very heavily oiled. This morning, I oiled again quite heavily and just before coming online, MIL applied mehendi to my hair. So I am writing now with my hair fully coated with layers and layers of henna. I always prepare a big bucket of henna and I apply in 3 times. So first application is over but henna paste remains. Now after lunch I will apply again (because will be taking a nap at this time) and a few hours before washing, I will finish all the paste. After washing in the evening, I will do oil bath with lots lots of coconut oil.
Coming back to my blog, today I will share videos of my sis: Neelam Singh. Neelam has some very nice and useful hair care videos (oiling, henna & styling). Lately, Neelam has not been doing heavy hair oiling videos, but yesterday she posted a video - and what a come back Neelam! Hats off to you for your super heavy oiling of 300 ml coconut oil. I will sharing a few of my fav videos from her channel but guys.

Hello my dear friends... I hope you are all fine. Sorry for not posting these last days, but held up with a lot of things. Today, I am posting a fresh video from Angel's style. This video really impressed me. After a very heavy oiling, she applied mehendi to her hair. It's a great video!
I have commented on the video already, but I extend my questions to all of you and your feedback would be much appreciated too.
- I also use henna, but I always apply henna on dry hair. I heard that applying henna on oiled hair does not stain. You don't get a nice color. Anybody can help on this question?
- I also usually do a very heavy oiling after washing the henna out with water only. But in this case, will a heavy oiling be required after washing out the henna?
- Please share your mehendi routine with us? How you prepare the paste, how you apply, how long you leave the henna and your post henna wash hair care?

Hello dearies, I hope you are all doing fine and had a nice oily weekend. Today, I wanted to share the videos of "Er.bandy life experience." She has some great videos regarding hair care, more specifically henna on hair application and post henna wash very heavy hair oiling videos.
Henna is such a good conditioner for hair, and on top 100% natural. It gives the hair strength but also a nice shade or even color. The only problem with henna is that it has a drying effect on the hair. There are several recipes/ways of preparing henna for the hair. Some people add oil directly in the paste. But many also claim that oil prevents the henna from staining. Thus for conditioning only, I believe you can add oil in your paste or apply henna on oiled hair. But if you wish to have a shade/color, then oil should not be mixed to the paste. However, it is highly recommended to go for a very heavy oiling (oil bath) after washing out the henna. And henna should be washed with water only and no shampoo or conditioner for best result. After drying the hair, it should be very heavily oiled and the next day you wash normally with shampoo.

Good morning my dear friends. So how are you today?
I have come across a very great video yesterday, which is from "Nesha Fashion." I have been honestly impressed by that video which shows hair crimping style, but without using any heat/tools. In fact, she coats her hair with cocont oil and then make some very small tight braids! That look sreally time-consuming but the most important is that it causes no damage to the hair. In fact, the hair remains in coconut oil overnight and the next day she will unbraid her hair and it will give a very nice crimping style. So guys, take a look and believe me, there are always ways to style the hair without any damage.

Hello my dear friends, good morning! How are you?
Today I am posting about lice/nit picking/combing as this has been requested by one of my followers. Even though (thankfully) I do not have any issues with lice and same goes for my daughters, but I think it deserves some focus as well. Lice comb is very very fine-teeth so that it removes the lice/nits. However, this can also do a lot of damage to hair because it involves quite harsh brushing and pulling. Hence, to protect the hair during lice picking, it is very important to oil the hair nicely and heavily before. In the videos I will be showing, you will see that the hair is oiled first of all and then lice/nit combing is done. I think this is a very good method and it also helps to protect the hair.

Sorry for not updating these days but very busy. As you know, during weekends my time is taken up with hair care of my kids and myself. Yesterday was my henna day and didn't have time as well.

Hello dearies and sweeties? I hope you are all doing fine and had a very nice (and oily) weekend. Apologies for not posting frequently, but you know, being a housewife is a full day non-stop work. On my side, the weekend was of course super oily - with frequent oiling for all us (kids, MIL and myself) and hair remained drenched in oil from Friday to Sunday evening. Since it was not my henna week, so we all washed hair Sunday evening. I oiled kids' hair again on Sunday night and Monday jus combed for school in the morning since it was already oiled. On my side, my routine goes on with very heavy oiling daily and same for MIL.
So friends, as from now, I will be sharing my new finds from Youtube. Today I have found several videos regarding very heavy hair oiling. So it is a huge update friends and I hope you will like it.
My new fav video is from 'MOM&ME Diaries in Telugu -USA' - I love this video because it shows a mom teaching her daughter how to oil her hair and the oiling is very heavy. That's just a great video and hats off.

A great channel that I found recently is 'Today with Lasri' - It shows how a mom takes care of her daughter's hair with oiling and different hairstyling, which are very practical for school. The love and care is reflected in the beauty of the daughter's hair - nice long, black and thick hair. Below are 2 videos but browse her channel for more.
So guys, I am sharing some nice and recently uploaded henna/mehendi hair videos on Youtube. I always recommend that after applying henna, the hair should be washed with water only (no shampoo or soap). And thereafter, the next day should be a very heavy hair oiling to seal the color and bring back moisture.
First video of the day is from 'Something Special' - She has very long and healthy hair. Great work dear and keep it up! You are a true rapunzel.
As for me, I will be applying mehendi later today and washing in the evening. At night I will be having my usual oil bath after henna.

First video of the day is from 'Vaishnavi D H', who accepted our request for a very heavy hair oiling vdieo. Thank you so much my dear for this 200 ml oiling and your hair is just awesome. We hope you will be posting many more very heavy hair oiling videos, combing and hairstyling.
On my side, I have just fully coated my hair with mehendi. I have prepared the paste since yesterday and today morning I oiled my hair and did the household works. Then I applied the henna coating strand by strand heavily until my whole head and hair became heavy with henna. I still have henna paste left so I will apply again after lunch and finally wash at around 3 pm. I will then do my post henna wash oil bath and drenching my hair in sweet coconut oil. It will be a busy and full day hair care for me today.
My first video for today is from 'My Idea My style Malayalam' and shows very heavy hair oiling. Kerala is known for its beautiful, long, black, thick and healthy hair and this is mainly due to the abundance and daily use of coconut oil. Keralites have a very nice routine of washing hair nearly daily but without shampoo and oiling again on damp hair. Their hair looks so nice and shiny always.

Hello my dear friends. My sincere apologies to you all for not being present these last weeks. There has been so much happening and was not well. I am much better now and still recovering. I skipped my henna but did not miss any single day of very heavy oiling! So this Monday, it will be henna day!!

The next video is from 'Monika vlogging world' showing hair oiling with Castor oil. Castor oil is a very good oil for the hair, but very thick and heavy.
Castor oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and is high in vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and omega-6 and -9 beneficial fatty acids. Its unusually high ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to skin and hair.
The next video is from rapunzel 'Vaishnavi D H; and her video show a nice oiling. Her hair is super long, thick and black - just like a waterfall. Keep it up dear!

But for me, it will be until Monday since I will be applying mehendi on my hair on Monday.So guys, I am sharing some nice and recently uploaded henna/mehendi hair videos on Youtube. Another henna/mehendi for hair video is from 'Natural beauty and hair treatment.' Long hair is indeed so beautiful but it also requires so much time, care and effort. You will see in the below video how tedious it is to take care of long hair. The lady is a real rapunzel and has very long hair. If you are on this blog, then you are surely a long hair lover and we long hair lovers will take all the pain and efforts to keep our tresses pampered and beautiful at all times. Great job my dear!

Hello friends, how are you all? I hope you are doing great. I am going to post several videos again today regarding hair oiling and styling. I hope you will like them and enjoy!Do comment on the blog and leave your routine and best tips.
First video of the day is from 'Vaishnavi D H', who accepted our request for a very heavy hair oiling vdieo. Thank you so much my dear for this 200 ml oiling and your hair is just awesome. We hope you will be posting many more very heavy hair oiling videos, combing and hairstyling.
The second video is from 'Dipannita sarma' and also shows some heavy hair oiling and ends with a nice sleek braid. Enjoy guys!
The third video is from 'Bengal Massage' and shows another heavy hair oiling video (full bottle) with traditional head massage. I love this massage and it really feels so relaxing. The model nearly falls asleep. However, the combing was done a bit roughly. I hope next time he will be coming the hair smoothly and make some nice hairstyles.
Fourth video is from 'Today with Lasri' and shows a very nice and cute hairstyle - 4 strands braid! It might seem to be a difficult hairstyle, but guys, watch the video which is so nicely explained and I am sure you will find it very easy to do following the video.
The next video is from '2 mins with Amina' and shows some very nice hairstlying for oiled hair. For those ladies who sport oiled hair, you will surely find your hairstyle whether to go to work or in public.
The next video is from 'Tani world' and shows a nice hair oiling with a special (natural oil). Browse her channel to get the recipe of that secret oil :)
'jaya shish' also shows a very nice hair oiling video with Indulekha hair oil. Though my favorite oil is coconut oil, I recommend mixing the different oils as each oil has different benefits.
The last video is from 'Indian Girl Kalpana' and shows post henna wash hair oiling. It is a great video and shows the difference after applying oil post henna. Henna and oil should work in combination for best results.

Hello my dear friends. I hope you had a nice weekend and a good start of the week and the month of June. I am going to share some videos that I came across during last week and I hope you will enjoy the update.On my side, I have just fully coated my hair with mehendi. I have prepared the paste since yesterday and today morning I oiled my hair and did the household works. Then I applied the henna coating strand by strand heavily until my whole head and hair became heavy with henna. I still have henna paste left so I will apply again after lunch and finally wash at around 3 pm. I will then do my post henna wash oil bath and drenching my hair in sweet coconut oil. It will be a busy and full day hair care for me today.
My first video for today is from 'My Idea My style Malayalam' and shows very heavy hair oiling. Kerala is known for its beautiful, long, black, thick and healthy hair and this is mainly due to the abundance and daily use of coconut oil. Keralites have a very nice routine of washing hair nearly daily but without shampoo and oiling again on damp hair. Their hair looks so nice and shiny always.
The second video is from 'Nirmala Mengar' and shows a very nice head massage the ayurvedic way. Ayurveda has some very nice treatments for hair but you will notice that in all treatments, oil is involved and usually it is a lot of oil. Take Shirodhara for example, there will be so much oil that will be flowing on the forehead and through the hair. Heavy oiling is very beneficial.
Third video is from 'RANs baby' and shows a very nice henna application. Hopefully the post henna wash heavy hair oiling video will follow soon.
Another nice and heavy hair oiling videos is from 'The Delhi girl Shipra.' She uses mustard oil which is also very beneficial for the hair and a very good oil for winter.

The next video is from 'Sunita world' and shows the benefits of using flaxseed. Flaxseed is also very good for the hair and can be used with oil or directly as a gel. Hair gels are usually very damaging to the hair due to the many chemicals it contains. But flaxseed gel is very beneficial. Learn more from this video.
Last video of the day is from our oiling queen 'BK Beauty tips.' In this video, you will how she goes out with heavily oiled hair in public. Many ladies don't do it but there is nothing wrong. We just tend to follow fashion and nowadays fashion is hair cutting, using heat/iron, chemicals and so on. But ladies, hair oiling is part of fashion too and this video shows that even if the hair is heavily oiled, it can be styled and combed and it is not a shame to go out with heavily oiled hair. In fact, it looks really nice to see the hair in a sleek hair style, tidy and shiny.

Hello guys and welcome back. Today's update will be mostly about mehendi/henna for hair and some nice hair oiling videos too.
The first video is from 'Nirmala Mengar' and shows a very nice and neat henna on hair application. Applying henna on long hair can be tedious and it is always great to have help from someone else.
Second henna on hair video is from 'Nikitha Priya's SuperTips.' She has very nice, thick and black hair and this is due to her great hair care.
The third henna/mehendi video is from 'Matrir Manar Kotha' who also has very nice long hair. The henna application is also very neatly done.
Moving on will be some hair oiling videos now. I will show you how elders/mothers can also be pampered by their daughters/relatives. It is always great to receive a champi from elders and they tend to do very heavy hair oiling. But it is nice that we also pamper them. Hair oiling creates such a special and strong bond. The next video is from our oiling queen 'BK Beauty tips' showing how she gives a nice massage to her grand mom.
The next video is from 'Tani world' who also pampers her mom with a very nice oiling. You will notice that her mom has also very nice hair. And often, hair care routines are passed on from our mothers.

Hello my dear friends. My sincere apologies to you all for not being present these last weeks. There has been so much happening and was not well. I am much better now and still recovering. I skipped my henna but did not miss any single day of very heavy oiling! So this Monday, it will be henna day!!
I will be sharing some nice updates for your weekend my dearies and sweeties... I hope you will like it and you will keep the blog active with your comments too! We will start with some nice hair oiling videos and finish with some henna/mehendi videos.
First video of the day will be from my sweet sister 'Today with Lasri' who will show you a very nice hairstyle for heavily oiled hair. The hair of her daughter is so beautiful. Enjoy guys.

My fav is parachute coconut oil and right now I have slathered my hair with coconut oil. I applied very heavily and just waiting for dripping to stop and I will braid and go to bed. My daughter's hair have also been very heavily oiled, till dripping like mine. I braided their hair too and they are already sleeping.

Today was Sunday and I enjoyed my day mostly at home doing housework and of course getting my hair oiled for longer! I have been using bhringraj oil and am very happy with it. It's expensive, but got all the nice ingredients. Today many people go for the light non-sticky oils, but I prefer oils that we have grown up with and unless my head feels that oily heaviness, my scalp cool and my hair shiny and neat, I don't feel satisfied.
DeleteHello Pooja, yes I also love thick and heavy oils and my fav is Parachute coconut oil. I also love amla, olive, sesame and castor oil. Very often I mix oils as each one of them have different benefits. For weekend oiling, it will be only a mix of all the different oils and it will be very very heavy. Minimum will be oiling twice a day for all of us. I cannot stay even one minute with dry hair. In fact, I don't even remember when was the last time I had completely dry hair :)
DeleteMe too Nam...I think I have dry hair only until it needs to dry after washing. Then it's fully oiled again from root to tip. Yeah even I oil twice a day on weekends mostly and longer as I have more time. I find it super relaxing when Aarti gives me those long massages and then ties my hair into a tight shiny braid. Amazing feeling...totally destressed and puts you at ease.

DeleteYes, hair oiling is still very well present... but it is becoming lighter oiling and as Pooja mentioned, light oils mostly! I know a lot of ladies who oil their hair but stay at home only and wash them after one hour. They do so because oiled hair is now considered as unfashionable - if not even dirty!! But this is so wrong!! Our ancestors always oiled their hair heavily and even till dripping. There are so many virtues of heavy hair oiling. I will surely post about this soon.
Coming to your case, I think the way you tackle them will solve the problem. If you simply ask them to oil their hair and force them when they refuse, they will never like it. You need to explain the benefits, show them how hair oiling can improve the hair condition and help the hair to grow and show them examples of ladies who maintained a good oiling routine and now have very beautiful hair! You can show them these channels. Look at Babita's channel and the very heavy oiling she does on her daughter's hair... Just look at the girl's hair, so thick, black and silky! Very healthy hair!! You cannot force kids as they will simply hate it! You need to explain and show the benefits! But most important, you have to set the example yourself. You cannot ask them to be with heavily oiled hair daily when you are showing off with dry hair my dear.
I hope this will help you out but I will be more than happy to answer other questions.

Totally agreed Nam. Just a suggestion - why don't you become a hair oiling counsellor to all the mothers who face problems like this mom. You can make yourself available on chat and answer all their questions in real time which they can share with their daughters or sons to make them understand the importance of hair oiling. I am sure you will be able to help them understand much better and be able to answer specific arguments that their child has - it will help a lot in reviving our age old tradition in todays time.

I think u are right . I used to oil my hair lightly everyday, but that was not enough to convince my daughter Neha to oil her hair.
Even After telling her the advantages of the oiling , she would not get her hair oiled by me.
So my husband said that I need to my hair heavily in order to make my daughter oil her hair just like you. So he said that he would oil my hair heavily with parachute oil, everyday before sleeping. I had no choice but accept it.
So he brought small 7-8 bottle of parachute oil of 50 ml. He said that since I have long mid-back lenght hair, he would use one bottle per day. I said ok although I didn't want to oil my hair heavily.
So at night , he was ready with the comb and oil in the living room. I called my 2 daughters Neha and aarti to see my hair getting oiled.
Neha is the elder one.
My husband first combed my hair. My hair were dry because I had shampooed my hair in morning.finally he started pouring oil directly on the middle partion. I could feel a lot of oil on my head. Then he started spreading the oil . He did the same for both the sides and for the back of my head. Then he stated pouring oil on the lenght of my hair. Finally after the bottle was empty he started massaging . Then he combed my hair and tied them in 2 tight braids, because we wanted our daughter to do the same.
Both of them were stunned looked at my heavily oiled hair.

ReplyDeleteI told Neha that I will oil her hair from the next day onwards everyday heavily with parachute oil. Since she is small my husband said that he would brings 30ml oil bottles for her and for me 50 ml .
She said no, but it doesn't matter.i had decided to oil her hair.Her summer vacations were going on and was in home most of the day, so I had decided to oil her hair heavily .
The next day my husband had brought parachute oil bottles of 30 ml for Neha. He told that I should use at least 1 bottle on nehas hair.
So on the following day, after she took a shower , I called her to her get hair oiled. But said no. I had no choice but to force her. I pulled her hair so she would get up from the floor and brought her to living room and made sit down between my legs. I had grabbed her hair to make sure she doesn't run away. She had already combed her hair nicely after her shower so 30 % of my job was done. I opened the bottle and began pouring the oil all over her top of the head, then at the sides and the back of the head. She was telling me continuously to stop it. But I ignored her. Then I poured the remaining little oil on her length of hair. Then i massaged her head for 15-20 min. Then I tied her hair in 2 tight braids. Her hair were shining brightly and she was looking really cute. But she was angry on me.

Hi Manisha, thanks for your update. I believe vacations are best time to catch up with oiling and since kids will be at home mostly, you can even do heavier oilings and keep the oil for a few days. As I told you before, I am not too much into these punishment things.
DeleteI believe you could have called both your daughters oiling your hair heavily and then explain the benefits of hair oiling to them. You need to tell them that your husband has decided a strict hair oiling routine for everyone, including yourself and tell them that this will help their hair to grow long and healthy. There are many Youtube videos explaining the benefits of oiling, show these videos. Make it a fun time, all of you sitting outside, oiling each other's hair, massaging, combing and trying different styles. They need to like it.
Forcing them will make them hate oiling even more and for sure, they will have no choice than to accept your routine for now, but once they grow up, they will simply hate it so much that they will not oil. Whereas, if they start liking it, they are sure to continue oiling in the future and even do the same to their kids.
To answer your question, I don't think you should be more strict with them... You should have a strict routine for sure, but not be strict with them or punish them.

ReplyDeleteMurthy here, just got done with oiling with Mother and maid. We also use Parachute coconut oil regularly. On weekends mix it with other oils too. My mother and maid love their long hair very much and care for it religiously. Mother got me into oiling over a year ago which is itself another story. Now my hair is longer than shoulder length and her dream is to make it waist length. Right now hair is heavily oiled smelling of coconut oil and in tight bun. My favorite hairstyle is fishbraid which looks so good with oiled hair and tightly combed. I really like how you a blog for oil lovers to help connect and give advise. How is your oili g routine?

DeleteNice to hear that your mom and maid takes care of your hair and you oil regularly. That's very good and it will reflect in your hair for sure. I hope your dream will come true and you will soon have waist length hair. Different braid styles look really so nice when the hair is heavily oiled - french, dutch and fishbraid.
Regarding my routine, I don't have a fixed one. I am a housewife so I stay at home and I can sport heavily oiled hair 24/7. Basically, when I wake up and refresh, I will apply some oil and massage and finger comb into a messy bun. Then prepare breakfast and everything for kids and hubby to leave for school and work. Afterwards, its cleaning the house and preparing lunch. Then I have my shower and I will oil heavily, massage and comb. I will then make a bun and keep it like this until after lunch and cleaning is over. At around 2 pm, I will let my hair down, comb it and oil it again heavily. I will either make bun or braid, but most often a bun because my hair will be very heavily oiled by now. Then next oiling will be at night, after dinner with kids. I will start by oiling their hair very heavily and give them a nice massage and put their hairs in a bun. At least 20 minutes for each one. After that, I will oil my hair very heavily now and will make a bun as usual. Oil will be dripping from our hairs and we will watch tv for some 30 minutes and by then dripping will stop. I will comb their hair again into a braid now and the kids will go to bed. I will also make braid later on before going to bed.
I wash my hair only once a week - usually on Sundays except when I apply mehendi. If I wash on Sunday (no mehendi), I will oil my hair again after 1 hour. My hair will be damp but I will still oil very heavily. Otherwise, I will apply mehendi on Monday (full day) and wash in the evening and then oil again heavily after washing. As for my daughters, they will wash their hair twice a week - on Wednesday and on Sunday.

My weekend very heavy oiling (dripping) starts as from Friday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon after hair wash. But right after washing and towel drying, the hair will be oil again heavily - but not dripping.

How much oil she applied on your head??
Hello Shanti... you mentioned one thing which I liked very much. Whenever I have headache, I also go to my MIL and tell her my head is aching. She will ask me to sit down and she will bring coconut oil in a big bowl because she will heat it. And no matter how much my hair is oiled, she will apply so much oil that I will have to sit still for at least 20-30 minutes so that dripping stops. At that time, she will simply pour the oil and pat the head. From first pat to last pat, I will be hearing chap chap and I just love it. Even my daughters are always surprised by this amount of oil, but this is the best treatment for headache!

Shanti and Nam since I am not married I don’t have a Mil. I am sure Mil would give you a really good massage. But I use the same headache excuse after a long day at work to get a long oil massage from Aarti my maid while watching tv. She teases me sometimes that why do I get headaches so often :) Then I lovingly give her a oil massage too. She also has thick and nice hair like me, but her hair are longer than waist also. I find the whole time so relaxing and both of us enjoying chatting about random things including the how stupid the tv serials are. At the end of it we admire ourselves with sleek shiny braids or buns. We always do the same styles on each other. She’s much younger to me but at that time we look like twin sisters. I love Aarti. She’s so nice to me and so it feels good to thank her like this as well. Oil massages have such a personal touch to them.

In their youger days, it would be normal to be with heavily oiled hair always. Everyone did it, so it was no big deal. But nowadays, as sad as it can be, nice sleek and heavily oiled hairstyles are considered as 'dirty'

Hi namratha i think you are right i think that elder should set examples for youngers in my situation i oil my hair heavily daily and my daughter hairs lightly daily and sometimes my mil and my daughter we will do combine oiling its great love of mother and daughter which is shown at time of oiling each other's hairs and today is friday so our weekend is started so today we all sit for oiling and soon my mil gave me champi i am waiting for it its so loveable and relaxing you dont belive me when she gave me long massage sometimes my eyes is gone close and i fall in sleep

But then, after washing henna, I again do a very heavy hair oiling. That same day, MIL will oil my hair till fully dripping because of henna application.

It's great to see that so many ladies love to oil their hair and enjoy doing it. I have been following these videos already, but it's great for so many others who wish to follow this tradition and are concerned about whether they should or not. I think by seeing these videos they will be encouraged and not worry about oiling being fashionable or not. Some of these videos show such amazing professionally styled shiny braids and buns. Hello Pooja, how are you? Thanks for your post dear, so glad to hear from you. Yes, lately there are many heavy hair oiling videos and hair care videos on Youtube. I hope this trend continues and we get more and more videos. As you said Pooja, the reason I try to comment on most videos and request for hair oiling and other hair care videos as well as hair styling videos is to promote hair oiling specially amongst our younger generation and also to show that hair oiling is not unfashionable or dirty. Of course, we are not asking them to be with oil dripping hair all day long, but at least keeping their hair oiled for its benefits. Oiled hair can be styled in so many different ways and those sleek hairstyles look so classy. I find these sleek hairstyles to be very professional too.
DeleteI hope you are getting better dear. If you had fever, I hope you applied coconut oil because it has a refreshing and cooling effect and helps bring the temperature down. I will be washing my hair later on. Right now it is fully oiled. No henna this week, so simply washing, drying and oiling again.

Yes definitely Nam. Sleek and shiny braids and buns looks so classy and professional. After seeing Babita’s videos on her daughters hair which is beautiful, I am sure the younger generation would be inspired to oil their hair well and ask their mothers or sisters eagerly to style their hair in the same way for school, college or work. I agree that if your work is too much outdoors then heavily oiled hair is not a good idea as it can get dusty and dirty very quickly. But if you are indoors most of the day in college or work then oiled hair is perfect as your hair holds the style so well for the entire day. You look fresh right till evening as if you just started your day. Not to mention how cool and calm and focused it keeps you throughout the day.
DeleteYes Nam I was using coconut oil throughout my unwell days. I didn’t wash my hair though for 6 days as I didn’t have the energy. Now that I am better I am back to my routine of washing every couple of days but getting my hair oiled as soon as it’s dried out which I leave to happen naturally. I usually wash my hair very early in the morning or sometimes after work in the evening and then get it heavily oiled from Aarti who gives me such a good massage when my hair is dry. Love the feeling when then oil just seeps in and covers my hair from root to tip and comforts my scalp warmly and bathes the air around with such a soothing fragrance. One of the best things to look forward to....

DeleteYes Babita's videos are just great dear and she has some very nice hairstyles. I am a housewife but if I would have been a working lady, I would have gone to the office with my heavily oiled hair styled into a tight bun, that's so classy. Sometimes we even see Indian actresses with some sleek hairstlyes for some big functions/awards ceremony. And the way the hair shines, I am sure it is oil. I love following Deepika and Sonam Kapoor. Their sleek hairstyles are just great.
A good and heavy coconut oil massage is the best thing dear. Even I just love when my MIL oils my hair so heavily. It will be fully dripping with oil (chap chap as I like). I usually go to her in case of headaches or if I am feeling tired. Elder people have magic in their hands. Be it my mom, MIL or elder aunties... their champi is just a bless!! But mind you, all of them oil very very heavily but that's the magic of it!

In my case dear these days i oil my hair heavily two times a day sometime my mil oil my hair and as my daughter is in home because for holidays in school so i oil her hair heavily all the time and my mil also oil her hair too so as a result we all were heavily oiled all time i hope you also oil very heavily and i wanted to tell you something when i am also very tired my mil also gave me a nice heavy hair oiling massage their champi is very good and i feel very relax she also gave me neck and shoulder massage with oil does your mil also massage your neck and shoulder??

DeleteNice to hear that you are oiling your hair twice a day and you are following a strict routine for your daughter too. In school holidays, I also keep my daughters' hair very heavily oiled. I will also do oiling twice a day - morning and night. But as you said, whenever I am oiling my hair, I will call them and just top up the oil and comb their hair. It can happen that my MIL also calls them for oiling. They know that during school holidays, they will remain with heavily oiled hair mostly.
When my MIL will give a champi, she will of course massage my face, neck and shoulders too. As I told you, she will use lots lots of oil dear and the way she oils is awesome. She will simply be pouring oil and patting and making sure that everywhere she will pat, she will hear chap chap sound. So by then, the head is fully drenched with oil and it will start dripping. She will then be oiling the length, pouring lots lots of oil and I can also feel the length becoming more and more heavy. So finally, oil will be dripping on my forehead, cheeks, near ears and neck. She will then massage the oil dripping all over my face, neck and shoulders as well.
One more thing I forgot to tell you, is that on Saturday night (school holidays or not), we do like an oil bath. After very heavy oiling, I will be massaging my daughters' face, neck and shoulders with the oil that is dripping. I will also massage their arms, hands, legs and feet too. Just like an oil bath and they will go to bed afterwards. This is also so relaxing.

Hi namratha deepak here today i oil my girl friend hairs heavily at her home she had a beautiful long hairs so i finish full small bottle of oil on her i am a huge fan of oiled hairs but unfortunately my girlfriend does so as per my love on her i do it forcefully i made heavy oiling compulsory in thrice a week i oil all her entire hair very heavily and do long massage i like to sniff her hair and sneez her hair and also like to pull and play with her long hairs but she always tell me why do you applied so much oil and i always replied her because i wanted to taking care of your hair because i just love her sexy long oiled hairs
ReplyDeleteHello Deepak, thanks for the update. You are doing a good job regarding her hair care. However, you will have to convince her to start liking heavy hair oiling dear. If she is doing only for your sake, the benefits will not be the same. Take the example of a flower: If you only water it becauase it is required, it will grow for sure. But if you give it water and love, it will grow even more beautiful. Sometimes we tend to do things just for the sake of doing it, but it will not reap the best benefits. That's why I always advise not to foce anyone into anything. They should be happy and keen on doing it and of course, they have to believe in it to see the full fledge results.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your detailed oiling routine. Like my mother you are really loving oiling and caring for your hair. I showed her the videos you posted on blog. She was getting her hair oiled and she told me to show maid the 100ml oil challenge video. Now both of them want to try it. I also read all your post. The one you mentioned how your husband avoids oiling reminds me of my on self over a year ago. Then Mom would insist on oiling early afternoon and I would avoid it as I didn't want oiled hair in the day and would do only night oiling. Every afternoon mother would sit for oiling and maid behind her and I see my chance and sneak out. Mother used to get irritated with it. One Friday afternoon I saw Mother go into kitchen with oil bottle and tell maid to warm up oil. I thought both are in there and I can leave unnoticed. As I reached door I slowly opened it and to my surprise the maid was waiting in front for me. She had a comb in her hand, she held my hand and asked Mother if oil is warm. Mom said in 5 minutes Maid took me kitchen and made me sit down while she took small stool and sat behind me She made me sit all the way back between her legs so I wouldn't move. Combed my hair and mother gave warm bowl of oil to maid. She poured oil and start massage to head. I told mother I don't mind oiling at night. She said I should always have oiled hair and not just at night and then wash in morning. The maid added that it is good for hair and at night she will apply extra coating of oil so the oil that gets absorbed in day is replace with new oil. The maid was outing oil and taking her palm and pressing the oil softly. I was enjoying the feeling and told Mother I have no problems anymore and u both can oil my hair anytime. It's always hard to tell a mother no and that to for oiling. Don't you think so Namratha.. Reply soon

DeleteThat was my second post. I had posted sometime ago to which you replied and explained in detail your oiling routine. I am glad you liked my oiling session. I was never against oiling but had a problem of oiled hair and going out in public. Something my Mother and maid helped overcome. I remember once I had to go to market after oiling and I refused as hair smelt of coconut oil. So then maid called me.to kitchen where she took some different oil and coated my hair with it. It was jasmine oil and smelt very nice.Now I was able to go out without any worries. My mother loves oiling very much and the maid too. She hired the maid with condition that oiling to be done everyday,and maid said she loves oiling and has no probs. Both oil their hair everyday and on weekends very heavy oiling sometimes three times. This is why mother never liked to see my hair dry and always have it oiled and grow it long.
Hello Murthy, my sincere apologies. These days I am so busy that I did not pay attention that it was your second post. Happy that you are contributing actively. Nowadays, we do have scented oils as you said. My favorite remains parachute coconut oil though. It has a very nice smell. But if you leave it for long, it can smell rancid. Honestly, I don't mind the rancid smell. But I don't face this problem because every single day I need to apply more oil. So you can say that the oil is always fresh and the scent as well. Weekend for sure is the best time for very heavy oiling. As from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, there is no fixed time for oiling. It can be done anytime and as frequently as we want :)

ReplyDeleteI am suvidya ,I think this is the best blog for me to share my experience about forced hair oiling.
My parents always tried to convince me to oil my hair , but I never listened to them. I didn't like oiling my hair because it makes my hair heavy and sticky. After my marriage, I thought that my parents would finally stop telling me to oil my hair, which they did , but something even worse was waiting for me.
After my marriage, one day I was in the living room watching TV and my husband swajay brought a comb and a coconut oil bottle and asked whether I liked hair oiling. I said no I had never oiled my hair. He said that's fine ,he would give me a nice champi with parachute coconut oil. I repeated that I don't like hair oiling . He said that my hair were very dry and keeping them open looks even worse.
He brought a chair and told me to sit on it. I sat on the chair but told him again not to oil my hair.
He started combing my hair did a middle partition.
Then came the part which I didn't like at all. He started directly pouring oil on my head. I kept on telling him to stop but he didn't give a damn abt what I was saying. There was a lot of oil on my hair. I had closed my eyes in fear. He was squeezing the bottle very hardly. He was spreading the oil on my hair with one hand . He then began to pour oil on my length of the hair. I told thats enough and stop now. He emptied the entire bottle on my hair which was maybe 50ml. He was massage my head after oiling. I was really not happy with my hair oiling. He massaged my head and was spreading the oil along the lengths of the hair. he asked me whether I wanted my hair to be in a single braid or double. I was like he has already done this against my will so let's do this thing too . I told him do to do whatever he likes. He did a middle partition and tied hair in double braid. He said that my hair looked very nice when they are oiled and braided.i said ok and told him to never do it again. He said will oil my hair everyday after I have bathed. I requested him to pls not oil my hair altho I knew he will not listen to me which he didn't . I told him to that if he is going to oil my then at least use less oil. He said since I had mid-back length hair that much oil is necessary. He said that actually going to increase the amount of oil after few month.
I asked him how can I go out of the house with this twin braid look. He said that I must have oiled hair whether I am at home or out of the home. He said that he could change my hairstyle to single braid or french braid.
So I understood I had no choice but to oil my hair. I wash my hair when I take a bath but he oils it again . I told him to use a different oil then, but he said no . He said he would use parachute hot oil in winter and whenever it's cold in monsoon which made me a little bit happier.
It's been 2 weeks since the hair oiling routine has started . I bet namratha is happy since I am forced by my husband to oil my hair .
What should I do to stop it?
Hi Suvidha, I think your husband is doing a lot of good for your hair. His style of forcing is not good, but I am sure he is doing it lovingly and with good intentions. As a married couple some compromises are made to please your partners. Maybe if he likes you to have long oiled hair that can be your compromise for the time being until you get used to it, grow fond of it and want him to lovingly put oil in your hair and style your hair. I am sure you will start seeing the benefits soon and thank him for it. In return, you can make him compromise on something you would want him to do and he's not so willing. That way both get their wishes and feel loved in the relationship. I am hoping you will see the brighter side and start using this blog in a positive way to appreciate the oiling tradition and all the nice hairstyles that people are doing after oiling their hair well. You can of course convince him to choose the oil you want and maybe reduce the amount of oil to your length and convenience. As long as your hair is oiled from root to tip and can be neatly combed and styled easily, you will really see the benefits and love having your hair like that daily.

ReplyDeleteHope you had a nice oily weekend. My mother and maid did 100ml oiling challenge this weekend. Maid first oiled mother hair and kept pouring and massaging oil. Mom had super sleek oiled hair that maid combed and made a tight braid. Then Mother made maid sit in front and took a new 100ml Parachute coconut oil and poured oil on head and oiled maid hair. As maid has almost knee length hair bottle was easily absorbed in her hair. As Mother was oiling maid hair she told me to open kitchen cabinet and get 50ml Parachute Coconut bottle. I got it and she told maid to use bottle.on my hair and empty it. So I sat in front of maid who poured oil on my head and was massaging it. Some oil dripped o my face and maid rubbed it on my face. She did nice oiling and massage and pulled my hair all the way back while combing
All three of us had super sleek oiled hair.
Hello Murthy, I notice just now that I forgot to reply to your post, my apologies dear. Nice to hear that both mom and maid took up the challenge. However, for me, it should not be a challenge but rather a hair care routine. No need to use 100 ml or 200 ml... but you need to use the right amount to make the hair very heavily oiled. I like to oil to a point where whereever I pat my head, I can hear that chap chap sound. I am then satisfied with the amount of oil because I am sure there is a lot of oil for my hair and scalp too. But the oil will definitely drip a little due to the amount I applied. But some of those challenges are great, but not practical. Hence, once in a while, I will oil even more like in these challenges but just to pamper the hair. Otherwise I stick to my usual routine.

It's only after they saw videos on your blog they wanted to try challenge. Their hair is always heavily oiled but not dripping or too wet. On Sunday Mother had her oiled and then asked me to comb and make a braid. I did that and soon maid walked in room and she asked me to comb and braid her hair also. So while combing maid hair I asked her how she got into oiling. She said there was a time when she had lice and her mother used to oil her hair and do nitpicking. She loved the oiled look and style so she decided to oil everyday. Nam do you have email so I can send you photo of my mother so you can see her long hair and maid too if u want.

I had never filed my hair before in schools. My parents never forced me to get my hair oiled , so I was not used to this. And all of a sudden my husband oiling my hair with 1 full oil bottle was something very new for me. I am not allowed to keep my hair open not even when I am at home.
And Pooja I told him several times to use different oil but he only uses parachute coconut oil. He is not even ready to use less oil. He says that the amount he uses now is appropriate for my hair and he says that by using 1 bottle every day there will be same amount of oil on my hair everyday.
It's been 1 month since he has started oiling my hair. I still don't like my hair getting oiled but I've kind of accepted it. I know that he is going to oil my hair whether I agree with him or not. So before he calls me for hair oiling , I comb my hair and to him with a new oil bottle and a comb, which and it makes him happy.
TBH when I was 1st getting my hair oiled ,not now , but at the tomt he recently started oiling my hair I was feeling quite awkward to go out of the house for buying vegatables and other things, but I can't stay in my house forever. So I got used to it. When I am at house my husband keeps my hair in twin braid and when I have to go out of the house he keeps it in single braid of french braid. My parents still don't know abt my hair oiling , I guess they will be surprised when know it since they will be visiting us tomorrow or the day after tomorrow
Hello Suvidya, I hope you are doing fine. My aim with the blog is to promote hair oiling because we Indians are known to have the best hair in the world. But I am not encouraging practices like forceful hair oiling and so on.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that if you do not like hair oiling, no matter how much you are force to oil, it will not be beneficials.
In your case, it is up to you and your husband to find the best routine. If there is no compromise, it is then up to you to accept it or not.
For many of us, oiling is part of our beauty routine and is nothing forced or bad. So we do it happily. I keep my hair heavily oiled always and wherever I am, my hair will be oiled (market or function). My husband knows I like to oil my hair and he accepts it. If he wouldn't like it, then I would follow another routine where I would oil my hair when he is at work only. It is a question of you as a couple and you should find the best routine or alternatives dear.

It's been almost 10 days since I had posted last time. Sorry for not posting. So my had come to visit me for 3 days and there were not aware of my hair oiling routine. They had never seen me getting my hair oiled. So 1 day before my parents were coming I tried to convince my hubby to not oil my hair for just 3 days. It was a straight no from him. I told him to use at least less oil only till for 3 days ,but he said no. I had given up at convincing him . There was no escape from hair oiling. He told me that I can change my hair style tho but it should be tied . I told him he can do twin braids since he was not listening to anything I thought I would let him choose my hairstyle as well.
So in the morning, he had oiled my hair heavily with parachute oil and went to work. Till he was out I did all the chores and was waiting for my parents to come. The were coming in the evening. My husband came at home before my parents came. I again tried to convince him again but he did not agree . When my parents came , they were surprised to see my hair neatly oiled and moreover they were in braids. They said that my hair looked very nice when oiled and braided . Mom asked me since when did I start oiling my hair because she had never my hair oiled . I told her that he started oiling my hair a few months ago and I enjoy it. I can't tell them that I am forced to oil my hair.
So for a few day , I acted that I liked getting my hair heavily oiled .in the morning, I would comb my hair and go to my my hubby with a comb and oil bottle before he called me to oil my hair which made him and my parents happy to see my hair getting oiled. He would then comb my oiled hair for 5 minutes and tight tie them in 2 braids. My mom said that twin braids look good on me.

ReplyDeleteActually even after my parents had gone after 3 days , I had altogether stopped arguing with him about hair oiling. Instead of him calling me everyday in morning, I would go to him with a new oil bottle and comb and tell him to oil my hair heavily. He told me that he liked when I asked for hair oiling. He told me that he would be using parachute advanced hot coconut oil from next month. I was surprised that he even agreed abt changing hair oil. But then he said that if he wanted me to use that oil , then I would have to double the amount of hair oil I have been using. I have been using 50 ml until now so he was going to use a 100 ml bottle . Or the other option was to use to keep using the same oil keeping the same quantity. He told me that if I choose to keep the quantity by not changing the oil , then the oil will be in solid form due to cold weather or he can preheat the oil before oiling . So basically if I choose option 2 I get 2 more choice that is solid or liquid.
Please tell me what should I choose. I really want to use a different oil but I don't want to use 100ml oil . Should I stick with the previous oil which is parachute oil. This new oiling routine would start from next week.
And on 15th June is my birthday. My hubby has never given me a day off from hair oiling since the day he started oiling my hair. I wonder if he would not oil my hair on my b'day.

I don't think your husband is being fair to you. The point is to enjoy hair oiling and the bond it brings between husband and wife. I feel you need to reason with your husband and tell him that you did not like oiling at first, but have now started enjoying it and that he's taking so much pains to take care of your hair daily. However, he needs to also think about your wishes and if you want to try a different oil of your choice, he should be happy that you are expressing interest and not agree with putting another condition. If you put it positively in this manner then I am sure he will understand your choice and be happy to continue oiling with the same amount, until such a time as you want a heavier massage.
ReplyDeleteI think he (and you of course) should be really happy that your parents also liked to see you getting your hair oiled and you then going to hubby with the oil bottle and comb to do your daily oiling routine. I feel you and him both should be be enjoying this now and if he's putting conditions on you, then he is just obsessed, not doing it with love. Please talk to him in a positive manner and hope he can be at your side in this choice.
Keep oiling and enjoy - it will definitely do good for your hair in the long run, if you follow the routine.
Nam thank you for continually posting new videos. By the number of you tube videos, especially young ladies, it seems your initiative is already successful. So many ladies are getting comfortable with oiled and styled hair, even while going out everywhere.

ReplyDeleteI was sitting with my wife and watching tv when she noticed few greys in my hair. She said she need to do something about them. I said i am okay with them.
Well that day we went to sleep. The next morning when i woke up, i felt a strong smell. The smell was of henna. Henna is something i dont like at all. I saw that my wife was sitting on dressing table and applying henna on her hair. I started talking to her while she applied henna. When she finished applying she went from the room, as she was leaving the room i reminded her that her henna bowl was still on dressing table. She said she prepared more henna and she will apply it on my hair as well. I started protesting but she didn't listened to me. She said she doesn't like my grey hair.
She went to the kitchen for some work and came back in few minutes. She told me to sit on stool of dressing table. I did as she said while protesting but she didn't listened to me.
She started applying henna on my hair. Her hands were already orange after she applied henna on her own hair. I was afraid that my grey would also turn orange like her hands, she said that I will have to keep henna on my hair for a long time to get good black color instead of orange. Within 5 minutes she coated my whole head with henna and there was still some henna left in that bowl. My head was feeling cold with henna paste. It was so difficult to bear henna smell. Both of us had henna on hair.
After 2 hours henna dried a little and the smell decreased. I was feeling good with henna and watching tv. Suddenly my wife brought henna bowl from kitchen and said she need to recoat my head with henna. I protested but she didn't listened to me and started applying henna. My head was full of henna paste.
She warned me to keep henna on my hair for at least 6 hours or the color outcome won't be good and she will again apply henna on my hair.
I did as she instructed. Both of us washed our hair in evening. My hair were orange even after keeping henna on my hair for 6 hours:(
After henna wash she oiled her hair and my hair as well. Next day the henna color didnt darkened at all. Now i am trapped with wierd orange hair and i cant even use chemical hair dye as my wife said chemical dye over henna will burn my hair and i will have to shave my head then.
Now henna is the only thing i am left with so please nam sis tell me how to darken the henna colour and turn it black

ReplyDeleteIt's been almost a month since I last posted.
My and my hubby are currently living at our MILs house for 3 weeks . We just shifted here 4 days ago because our house had to be repainted. And it turns out that my MIL is even stricter than my hubby regarding hair oiling. My SIL is also fond of hair oiling
On the 1st day , when we reached there and freshened up she asked my why were my hair not oiled . I was confused TBH. Because my hubby had oiled my hair with a full bottle of 50ml oil. So told her that my hair were oiled. She told me to sit and brought a big bottle of parachute oil which was 100ml. She told me that she would oil my hair and made me sit down. I started requesting her to not do so and told her again that my were already oiled my a full bottle of oil.
She told me to stay quiet and open my braid. After combing my hair she started pouring the oil on my hair. I didn't argue with her and stayed quiet . The was literally dripping from my hair. She had almost finished the entire bottle . She did a single braid very tightly and poured the remaining oil on my braid. After the hair oiling had finished she told me that my would be oiled twice a day . In the morning by MIL and in evening by SIL I said ok cause that was the only thing I could say. She said that I should be ready with the oil bottle and comb everyday . I wasn't allowed to change my hair style . Only a single tight braid or a hair bun.
Earlier I used to get my hair oiled by just 50 ml. And now its 100ml twice in a day which makes it 200ml daily. I just have to go with it. I wash my hair every morning but as soon as it dries I go my MIL with a oil bottle and a comb. She them combs my hair and does a middle parting and started pouring the oil from the middle of the hair. After squeezes my hair to remove the excess oil and ties them in a single tight braid. After my hair oiling my SILs hair are oiled by me . I oil her hair twice a day with 100ml oil. Her hair and waist length and very silky. I first comb her hair and pull them back and start pouring the oil on the top of the hair. I squeeze the bottle with one hand spread the oil with other. Then after that I start with sides of the head . She told me that if I wanted to move or turn her head I should just grab the hair and turn it. Then after that I oil the back the head and pour oil there . And finally I pour the remaining oil on the lengths of the hair. After the oil has finished I grab the lengths of the hair, keep all of them on the top of the head and start rubbing it against each other when massaging her head. She really enjoys getting her hair oiled. Then I finally do a single braid.
It's kind of a relief for me that I am not the only one getting my hair heavily oiled. And TBH I enjoy oiling my SILs hair. Oiling her hair in fun. But getting my hair oiled , not so fun.

ReplyDeleteHere i amwwuth my update regarding another henna session but with punishment this time.
It was Saturday evening. I saw that the new hair growth of my wife's hair was white. So i told her about her white hair. In return she said that i dont need to worry as she will apply mehndi on her hair soon. She got up from sofa and went to the kitchen. I followed her.
In kitchen she started preparing mehndi for her hair. She put tea, coffee powder and water for boiling and then took out her mehndi powder sack. We were talking as she prepared her mehndi. Then she put a lid on that steel bowl and we went out of the kitchen.
Next day when i woke up, she was already awake. She gave me breakfast and went to our bedroom. After i finished breakfast, i went to the bedroom and saw that she was about to start applying mehndi on her hair. I remember what happened last time so i tried to run but she said "rohit zara idhar ana tumhara help chahiye". I wemt to her and she said "rohit zara please yeh mehndi ka bowl pakar lo thori dair". I did as she said.
She started applying mehndi on her hair. She looked very pretty while applying it. I dont like the smell of mehndi so i complained to her. She said "please thori dair bardasht karlo smell".
I still didn't stopped complaining which i realized later that it made her angry. She got up from the stool and went for washing her hands even though she coated not even half of her head with mehndi.
She came back and had a dupatta in her hands. She told me to turn back so she can tie that dupata on my nose. I turned back on her order.
Suddenly she took both of my hands and tied them on my back. I was like what are you doing.
She said "ab deikho kya karti hoon tumhare sath".
She made me sit on bed with tied hands. She brought her mehndi bowl towards me, i thought she will again apply on my hair, but she did something worse.
She dipped her fingers in mehndi and applied it on my lips and mustache area.
She said "ab songo beth kar mehndi"
I couldn't speak because mehndi was on lips so it would go in my mouth.
It was a very strict punishment for me by my wife. She then went back and again started applying mehndi on her hair. I was helpless. I had no way to clean the mehndi. Within 10 minutes she finished applying mehndi on her hair. She came to me and started untying my hands and said "mehndi kafi bach gayi hai shukar karo tumhare baalon pe nahi lagadi is dafa dobara". The moment my hands got freed, i got up from the bed i went to washroom and washed my face. When i went out she said "tumhe kisne kaha mehndi dho kar aao"
I had no answer. She said "okay ab murga bano 5 minutes k liye as a punishment".
I said "okay koi problem nahi".
I became a murga near our bed. She went to the kitchen and brought a thread. She tied my both wrists behind my neck. I said "kitne dair rehna hai aise?"
She said "jub tuk mei bachi hui mehndi tumhare baalon mei nahi laga deti aise hi rahoge".
I started protesting and she said "chup karo warna is dafa lips k sath sath pura mu pe mehndi laga dongi".
She then started applying mehndi on my hair. I could not see anything in that murga position as my head was on ground. All i could hear was the sticky sound of mehndi paste. It was feeling so cold.
She coated my whole head within 5 minutes. She then untied my hands and said that i will have to keep mehndi on my hair for 8 hours. I said okay.
After 8 hours she helped me in washing my hair. She then heavily oiled my hair. It was evening time. She also washed her hair. I realized that my hairs were so soft just because of my wife so i thought of helping her now. I heavil oiled her hair and tied them in a big bun. She was so happy and thats how my forced haircare session ended

ReplyDeleteI am a very old follower of your oiling/henna blogs. If you remember in your blog nunber 2,i used to discuss about my hate for henna with you. Well things changed drastically. I apply henna on my hair now. I finally confessed to my maid about my secret likeness for henna and she said no problem she can apply on my hair. The same day she went to market and bought henna, amla, reetha and shikakai. I said that i would prepare it. She was amazed to hear it from me and she said she would be happy if i prepare. Well then i gathered amla, reetha and shikakai in an iron bowl with water and left them for 6 hours. After that i added henna powder in it. I made henna in two separate bowls. One with amla powder for myself and one without amla. I prepared enough quantity so that we would have leftover henna to top up when the bootm layer of henna starts to dry on hair. Well i prepared henna mixture and left it overnight. Next day around 11am she applied henna on my hair and i applied on her hair. Ohh God i loved the feel of it when it was being applied on my car. The coolness, the sticky sound of it when it was being rubbed on my hair. She completed henna application within 5 minutes. I was feeling so good. After 1 hour the henna started to dry soi toooed6it uo again with more henna paste. After 2 hours i washed it. My haur felt so good. All the dandruff was removed. Good thing was the henna conditioned my hair but didnt imparted any colour because i also mixed amla powder in it.
Next day was henna day again, she again applied it on my hair. This type i oiled my hair before application of henna and asked her to apply the henna paste without amla powder. She did as i asked. I kept henna for 3 hours this time. I covered it with a wrap as i wanted to lay down. Again my hair felt great. I oiled my hair heavily after washing henna.
Rightnow its night time and i wanted to apply henna again so i brought the bowl and applied it myself this time. Then i wrapped it as its winters and wrapping helps a lot. I am typing with my head full of layers of henna. After removing it i will oil my hair

I live in the US and have two daughters. One of them is 12 and the other is 9. I noticed that their hair is starting to get dry and thin. Since my hair did not use to get so dry and thin, I thought about what my mon used to do when I was small. I remembered about my hair getting oiled and it always staying in a tight choti(braid) every day. I decided to do their hair like a traditionial indian girl to make their hair thick and shiny. I think I will heavy oil thier hair every school holiday and lightly oil every school day. My small daughter's hair is usuallay in a ponytail or it is open. My older daughter's hair is usuallay always in a ponytail. I think I will always keep their hair in a tight platied all day and always oiled. On the weekends, I am thinking about oiling using 200ml for my elder daughter and 100ml for my younger daughter. It is going to be hard to oil my daughters' hair because girls generallay tend to hate hair oiling like I did. My parents needed to force me for them to oil my hair because I did not understand the importance and benifits of it. My elder daughter will espessiallay not want to get her hair oiled because in her age at school some girls are starting to do hair color and stuff so she might feel out of place in her school. After reading your comments I see that you also had trouble with your daughter about getting her hair oiled. How did you convince her and what are your daughter's routines?

ReplyDeleteRahul here hope you recognized me. My wedding is near so i thought of pampering my self especially my hair. As you know i used to hate henna so much few years back but now i love it.
I gathered the courage to apply henna on my hair once again after January. I have a lot of white hair but i thought of doing multiple applications to make those white hair into brown instead of orange. I went to a shop and asked the shopkeeper for mehndi powder. I bought 400 grams of henna since i intended to do multiple application. I mixed the henna and applied mehndi on my hair on sunday, it felt so good. Application was challenging since it was first time for me but i did a fine job. I can also show you my hair with full of henna. I kept henna on my hair for 3 hours then washed it and oiled my hair. My ehite hair got colored in beautiful red colour. I shampooed the next morning. Then on Monday night i applied henna again. I prepared enough henna hat would give multiple applications. Now its Tuesday and right now while writing here i am sitting with henna on my hair. Its been 1 hour since i applied and i will be doing a henna touch up again. I will do 2 more applications of henna and then i will do an indigo application to turn my brown hair into black. One thing i wanted to ask is that after applying henna i feel so much sleepy. Do you also feel sleepy after applying henna on your hair?

ReplyDeleteWas just curious, how much oil(in ml) do you apply to your and your daughter's hair? I apply about 100-150 ml to my daughter's hair on weekends since that's the only day I get to oil her hair, and I oil about 75-100 ml everyday, since my hair is only shoulder length. I am thinking about trying out an 250 ml oiling, do you think that will be too much?
